Apprenticeship Readiness Program North America's Building Trades Unions (NABTU)
North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) sponsors comprehensive apprenticeship readiness programs (ARPs) throughout the U.S. These programs provide a gateway for local residents – focusing on women, people of color, and transitioning veterans – to gain access to Building Trades’ registered apprenticeship programs. ARPs are administered by state and local Building Trades Councils and they teach NABTU’s nationally recognized Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3).

Building Operators Training Program Youth Action Youth Build
This training program is a 12-week program that provides young people with foundational career pathway education, hands-on training, and internships designed to introduce them to careers in the Building Operations field. Eligible participants will be 17-24 years old, not in school or working, low income, and from the greater New York City metropolitan area. 

DC Green Externships DC Sustainable Energy Utility
DCSEU connects District residents with 6-month green externships working with local contractors and other organizations. Externs gain marketable job skills, certifications, and work experience, and receive job placement assistance to discover new careers in sustainability. Participants have gone on to careers such as a Commercial Solar Installer, HVAC Technician, or Sustainability Project Engineer.

The U.S. Department of Labor sponsors CareerOneStop that includes a Green Careers section providing an outline of green careers in today’s changing workplaces. CareerOneStop details occupations across multiple sectors, skills, wages, and education needed,  and lists local training programs.

Green Career Resources U.S. Green Building Council
USGBC has collected green career resources targeted to students, emerging professionals, and educators. Green Jobs connects job seekers to a diverse range of careers in the environmental field.

IFMA Job Board International Facilities Management Association
The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) offers professional development, career guidance, credentials, and a job board.

Industrial Assessment Centers (IACs) U.S. Department of Energy
IACs train university students in conducting industrial energy assessments; these no-cost energy assessments are available to eligible small- and medium-sized manufacturers. IAC teams have conducted over 18,000 assessments.
