Building Career and Industry Awareness

Although some elements of building energy efficiency work have existed for decades or longer, many of the specific technologies are new and rapidly evolving. Before training people or connecting them to jobs, they need to know that the jobs exist, understand what the job entails on a day-to-day basis, and know what skills and education are needed.

Workforce stakeholders can help build career and industry awareness through engagement and promotion to existing workers, diverse communities, and youth. While it is important to communicate job duties, requirements, and wages, it can also be valuable to showcase building energy efficiency careers as welcoming, impactful, and rewarding.
