FEMP - Transforming Research Labs Into Sustainable Spaces: Part 1

Five years ago, a movement focused exclusively on reducing the environmental impact of laboratories began to gain momentum. This "green labs" movement seeks to address sustainability holistically, focusing on working with scientists to take concrete steps toward reducing energy, water, waste, and the use of hazardous materials. his movement has continued to grow, and there are now more than 100 organizations across the United States with Green Labs programs. Green Labs programs not only help conserve resources, they also provide a unique opportunity to engage with scientists, strengthening relationships among facilities, safety and sustainability staff, and scientists.
