Ventilation Setbacks for Healthcare Facilities Peer Exchange
Ventilation requirements for healthcare facilities are large drivers of energy consumption - space heating represents about 40% of the average healthcare facility's energy consumption (US EIA). However, significant energy savings are possible through proper control and setbacks on ventilation rates. This Better Buildings Alliance healthcare sector peer exchange had ASHRAE expert Jeff Boldt explain recent changes in ASHRAE Standard 170-2013, Ventilation of Health Care Facilities. Alliance members Cleveland Clinic Foundation and New York Presbyterian Hospital also presented case studies on successful implementation of HVAC setbacks.
