Automatic Receptacle Controls Adjusting to New Code Requirements for Plug Load Controls

The Plug and Process Load Technology Research Team provided team updates and hosted two technical presentations focused on automatic receptacle controls, which are methods for reducing plug load energy consumption. The first presentation discussed the current code requirements for automatic receptacle controls, where they are being adopted, and their inclusion in the 2021 IECC (International Energy Conservation Code) code cycle. The second presentation reviewed findings from a study exploring how relevant stakeholders are adjusting to the new code requirements for automatic receptacle controls.
