Equipment maintenance is necessary to ensure reliable, safe and efficient operation of industrial systems. Most plants have maintenance functions onsite, for which the degree can vary depending on the need and criticality of the operations. In this tip of the month, we review waste streams created by maintenance functions as well as effective maintenance management which can prevent waste (source reduction).
