Distributed Wind Energy for Industrial Applications

Wind turbines used as distributed energy resources—also called distributed wind energy—produce electricity that is consumed onsite or locally. Distributed wind energy projects support numerous applications, including industrial operations. Wind is a clean and renewable energy that does not produce air or water emissions through operational use. With a small land-use footprint, wind turbines are often able to be built onsite or near to industrial facilities.
