Tulsa Public Schools is the largest school district in northeast Oklahoma with 40,000 students and 6,800 employees. The district operates 96 different buildings spanning 178 square miles. By utilizing targeted messaging to students and staff about energy consumption, TPS has achieved a 23% energy reduction since 2009, earning Cenergistic’s Energy Excellence award due to its commitment towards energy reduction and achievements to date.

Tulsa Public Schools is committed to educating its students and staff about the importance of energy efficiency and the financial and environmental benefits. The district plans to utilize the educational resources provided by the Better Buildings Challenge to continue to increase awareness among the TPS team, students and community. The district maintains strong bonds within the community and hopes this program will create a lasting impact on how Tulsa views energy consumption.
