Topsoe is a global provider of technology and solutions for the energy transition and combats climate change by helping its customers and partners achieve decarbonization and emission reduction goals. Based on decades of scientific research and innovation, it offers solutions for transforming renewable resources into fuels and chemicals for a sustainable world, and for efficient and low-carbon fuel production and clean air. It was founded in 1940 and is headquartered in Denmark, with over 2,800 employees serving customers all around the globe.

The organization announced its commitment to sustainability targets, including a net zero target for scope 1, scope 2, and scope 3 emissions by 2040. The targets were approved by the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) in 2023. Topsoe's sustainability efforts have also been recognized by EcoVadis, where it now ranks in the top 2% of EcoVadis' sustainability ratings with a gold score. In addition, it received a B score from CDP in recognition of its efforts to manage environmental impacts. At the Bayport, Texas production facility, it aims to contribute to its corporate net zero targets by 2040 by reducing emissions in scope 1 (by at least 95%) and scope 2 (100%) by 2030, from a 2020 baseline. Near-term it's implementing processes to reduce 30% process emissions in 2024 and convert to 80% renewable electricity by 2025, compared to its 2020 baseline. Offsetting will not be used in achieving these targets.
