Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) provides affordable, sustainable housing and services to 4100 low-income people in the Tenderloin and throughout San Francisco, California that positively impacts tenant’s health and the environment. As a leader in sustainable housing since 2008, TNDC manages 44 buildings totaling approximately 2.9 million square feet, with 14 additional buildings in development.

In 2019, TNDC became a Better Buildings Challenge Goal Achiever after achieving 20% energy savings and 20% water savings across their portfolio. They are currently members of the Better Buildings Low Carbon Pilot and Water Savings Network. By 2031, TNDC seeks to cut its environmental footprint in half through the Better Climate Challenge. Currently, 52% of their buildings have rooftop Solar PV or Solar Thermal systems and all of their building’s common areas operate on 100% renewable energy through CleanPowerSF. TNDC monitors it energy and water use through the third-party vendor Wegowise.
