Target is a general merchandise retailer with nearly 2,000 stores and 49 supply chain facilities in the U.S. and the District of Columbia. Target is committed to goals that protect the environment, and to advance responsible practices that positively impact areas such as climate change, water, chemicals, plastics, materials, and more.

Since 2015, Target has made investments in energy-efficient initiatives for more than 1,000 stores, including natural refrigerants, LED lightbulbs, solar, electrified HVAC and more. In March 2022, Target completed the conversion of its Vista, California store to become Target’s first net zero energy store. Target anticipates the store will generate up to 10% more renewable energy than needed per year to support its operations – furthering Target's journey toward net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

Target's goal is to source 100% of its electricity from renewable sources for global operations by 2030.
