Home Energy Score

The Superior Watershed Partnership and Land Conservancy (SWP) is a 501(c)(3) is an award-winning Great Lakes nonprofit organization that has set national records for pollution prevention and implements innovative, science-based programs that achieves documented, measurable results. The Superior Watershed Partnership implements a variety of conservation and public education projects.

Since 2019, the SWP Energy & Climate Office has utilized state and federal grants to send the Great Lakes Climate Corps team (GLCC) into low-income Upper Peninsula (U.P) of Michigan households to conduct Home Energy Scores, weatherization’s and residential solar installations at no charge to the household with the goal to help struggling households to become energy secure and reduce their dependency on state energy assistance programs.

Income-eligible households can schedule a free Home Energy Score during the energy assistance intake process. Households will receive a comprehensive Home Energy Score that they can use to reduce their energy consumption and lower their energy costs. The GLCC can perform air-sealing, insulation and residential solar installations in a number of homes and makes direct referrals to electric utilities with Energy Waste Reduction programs.
