Southern Oregon University (SOU) is a regionally-engaged learning community committed to being the educational provider of choice for learners throughout their lives. SOU is a liberal arts university focused on students success; promoting intellectual growth, continuous improvement, excellence, sustainability, innovation, and creativity. SOU’s Ashland campus is situated on 175 acres, nestled in the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains in Ashland, 14 miles north of Oregon’s border with California. The campus features state-of-the-art laboratories, lecture halls and auditoriums, sport facilities, food courts and more.

SOU is committed to sustainability, which is integral to all they do. It includes: solar power generation; reduce, reuse and recycling initiatives; energy efficiency; water conservation; Bee Campus and Tree Campus certification; and sustainable food production at The Farm. SOU is a GOLD rated Sustainability Tracking Assessment & Rating System (STARS) institution from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.
