Shari's Café & Pies

Shari's Café & Pies

Shari’s Café & Pies is the largest full-service restaurant chain based in the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 1978, Shari’s provides high quality, reasonably priced meals 24 hours a day in comfortable surroundings.  Shari’s has increased its commitment to environmental responsibility over the years. In 2008, the company created Shari’s Water Energy Efficiency Program (S.W.E.E.P.)  Since then, the program has evolved into a larger strategic plan that is now part of the company's core values. For Shari's, it’s not just about saving dollars, it’s about being a good corporate citizen in the communities the company serves.

Shari’s Café & Pies is constantly striving to reduce its impact on the environment. The company is committed to continuously improving performance and reducing energy, water, and other waste costs. Shari's strives to improve resource management within its operations and work toward efficient best practices where cost effective. To achieve these goals, the company will adopt the following best practices: ensure that team members are aware of and accountable for actions influencing energy, water, and waste management; consider energy and water efficiency for the purchase of new equipment when possible; buy products from local communities whenever possible to aid in reducing the company's overall carbon footprint; use recycled and/or recyclable packaging whenever possible; and implement monitoring and reporting procedures to communicate performance internally. Shari’s will also annually establish energy goals and identify additional opportunities to reduce its carbon footprint.
