RTX has made three commitments as a participant in the Better Climate Challenge:

1. They have pledged to reduce their GHG emissions by 46% by 2030 (against a 2019 baseline)

2. A 2.5% absolute energy intensity reduction by 2025 (against a 2019 baseline)

3. Reduce water consumption by 10% or more by 2025 (against a 2019 baseline)

Raytheon received a 2018 Better Project Award for implementing the company’s first energy storage system at its Fullerton, California, facility, with an expected return on investment of over 500% through avoided utility peak demand costs.

UTC received a 2017 Better Practice Award for creating a multifaceted energy efficiency improvement program that has saved millions in cumulative energy costs.

In 2013, the U.S. Department of Energy recognized UTC for slashing energy consumption across its U.S. operations by nearly 30 percent between 2005 and 2012.

In 2017, UTC exceeded its 5% water goal with a 14.5% reduction against a 2015 baseline.
