The Madison City School District is located in Madison, Alabama consisting of two high schools, two middle schools, six elementary schools, a stand-alone Pre-K center, football stadium, and three support buildings.  The district has committed 1.5 million square feet of space to a 30% reduction in energy consumption and 20% reduction in water consumption by 2024 with a 2014 baseline.

Madison City Schools is committed to energy conservation and creating a healthy learning environment for all. In particular, the district serves a large population of developmentally delayed students in Pre-K through 12th grade. By conducting energy and load audits, Madison City has been able to identify opportunities to improve lighting efficiency while also ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the classrooms and therapeutic treatment rooms.
