The commitment to reduce energy has been a long-standing goal of Macy’s. Macy’s has engaged in aggressive energy reduction measures through the development and use of its Energy Information System (EIS) to monitor, analyze, and target key energy opportunities. Coupled with this tool is a process where energy staff interact with the field personnel in identifying opportunities to reduce energy working together to eliminate waste. Macy’s is also a leader in the implementation and use of LED technology for accent lighting.
