Lush Cosmetics are purveyors of good, clean fun. They offer luxurious and ethical skincare, haircare and bath products, as well as unique gifts filled with fragrant and effective products. Never tested on animals, every Lush product is vegetarian and about 85% are vegan, 40% preservative-free and 35% unpackaged. Lush supports Fair Trade, Community Trade and charitable initiatives, and follows the simple policy: have the least possible impact on the environment, while still producing beautiful and effective products.
Lush operates 250 stores across the United States and Canada in a variety of locations from standalone street-front stores, indoor and outdoor malls, as well as factories and distribution centers.
Lush has been improving performance in its energy, materials, waste, and water footprint across its business. In retail stores, Lush has achieved a 15% reduction in energy intensity against a 2017 baseline to date, as has sourced 100% of its energy from renewable sources.
Lush Cosmetics has implemented a range of energy efficiency measures, including rolling out LED lighting with advanced controls, an Energy Management System to better control HVAC systems, and RTU replacements. The company will continue with further RTU replacements and heat pump installations to reduce cooling and domestic hot water energy consumption through 2020 and beyond.
