Life Time, Inc.
With over 150 locations, Life Time, Inc. is a chain of athletic country clubs in the United States and Canada that offers classes, sports, personal training, childcare centers, salons, food courts, indoor/outdoor pools, and more. Life Time, Inc.'s commitment to efficiency is reflected by the many ways it finds to reduce both energy and water usage. This includes implementing chain-wide troffer retrofits, operating an energy co-generation system, installing advanced controls, and making variable frequency drive retrofits to HVAC units in most of its clubs. Life Time, Inc. is one of the largest consumers of water nationally, and strives to reduce water use through a series of pool and irrigation facility projects, including a steam room optimization solution across its full portfolio that includes cutting down peak demand and run-time of the steam rooms.
Through its partnership in the Better Buildings Challenge, Life Time, Inc. committed to reducing energy use 20% across 16 million square feet of its portfolio. Life Time, Inc. has met this goal by continuing its broad approach to capturing energy and water efficiency. It is also researching innovative new projects, like coupling its energy management system with its class scheduling system so that the over 750,000 classes it holds each year are more efficiently heated and cooled automatically.
