Better Climate Challenge

Legacy Vacation Resorts has 8 resorts across 4 states: Florida, Colorado, New Jersey, and Nevada. They have been working to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by committing to initiatives like the Science Based Target initiative, offsetting their Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions, transitioning to onsite renewables at each resort, and integrating building efficiency upgrades. They are committed to reducing their electricity usage by 10% from a 2018 baseline year and reducing their water usage by 25% from a 2018 baseline year by 2025. Additionally, they are committed to achieving 100% renewable energy by 2030 and ensuring a 100% LED conversion by 2023.

To achieve their ambitious climate commitments, Legacy Vacation Resorts is implementing strategies, such as onsite solar, offsetting their carbon emissions through a third-party provider, and purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates. Additional building efficiency upgrades include LED retrofits, low-flow faucet, toilet, shower head replacements, and more.
