As a partner in the Better Buildings Challenge, Kohl’s reached its goal of 20% energy reduction by 2020 two years early by achieving a 24% energy reduction from a 2008 baseline. The company has now set its sights higher with a new goal to cut energy by an additional 10% by 2025.
By joining the Better Climate Challenge in 2021, Kohl’s has committed to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2025 from a 2014 base year. Kohl’s is working to meet its goals through ENERGY STAR® certified buildings, lighting and HVAC upgrades, renewable energy, as well as LEED® certified buildings.
