They achieved these reductions through broad ranging energy programs that span the Kilroy Innovation Lab, the award-winning green leasing program, embedded measurement & verification, a dedicated efficiency budget and more.

As a result, their stabilized portfolio has achieved high benchmarks for energy efficiency. At year end 2018, 77% of eligible square footage, encompassing 50 buildings, had achieved ENERGY STAR certification. Further, their development pipeline continues to push the envelope on sustainable development. All of their development projects are built to LEED Platinum or Gold standards and their stabilized portfolio is 63% LEED certified. LEED certification demonstrates to prospective tenants that their assets reduce operating expenses and thoughtfully minimize their environmental impact.

Sustainability accolades include Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) #1 ranking among North American Listed Office real estate owners, NAREIT’s Leader in the Light award in the Office sector and the EPA’s highest honor of Sustained Excellence ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for the past three years.
