Honeywell

Honeywell

When Honeywell launched its Sustainability Program in 2004, they deeply embedded sustainability into their core operating processes, leveraging the entire workforce to find and implement sustainability improvements. The result has been more than 6,100 projects yielding a 90% improvement in greenhouse gas intensity, and an approximate 70% improvement in energy efficiency in global operations and facilities. This internal program is coordinated with the company’s product portfolio. Approximately 50% of new product R&D is directed towards improving environmental and social outcomes as they use internal operations as a laboratory to develop new products to help customers meet their sustainability goals.

HONEYWELL IS PARTICIPATING IN THE FOLLOWING DOE PROGRAMS:

Better Climate Challenge

In 2021, the company committed to carbon-neutral facilities and operations, and to quantify and manage GHG emissions in their value chain, by 2035. The commitment to the Better Climate Challenge complements their 2021 Carbon Neutrality commitment. Under the Better Climate Challenge, Honeywell will reduce U.S. Scope 1 and 2 GHGs by 50%, and improve energy efficiency by an additional 10%, by 2030 from a 2018 baseline. Leveraging their Management Operating System that they implemented in 2004, Honeywell intends to accomplish the Better Climate Challenge commitment through a combination of fresh investments in energy savings projects, conversion to renewable energy sources, completion of capital improvement projects at Honeywell sites, and upgrading the company’s fleet of vehicles, with a particular focus on catalyzing Honeywell innovation.
