HSB's products can be applied to both single risk projects (e.g. Industrial facilities, commercial office buildings, municipalities, universities, schools or hospitals) and to smaller risk projects aggregated into a portfolio (e.g. Private Equity owned portfolio of 300 restaurants).
Geographical regions served: USA, including Puerto Rico, and Canada. HSB can underwrite risks in Europe via our sister company, HSB Engineering Insurance (EIL).
Energy Efficiency Insurance- Designed to help mitigate the technical risk associated with energy efficiency projects.
- Covers difference between projected and actual energy savings due to defects in design, manufacture, or installation of the applicable equipment.
- Eligible energy efficiency measures may include: HVAC, lighting, or building control system upgrades, insulation improvements, and others.
- Deductibles ranging from 5% to 20% of projected savings.
- Pricing is based on a percentage of projected savings.
- Customized coverage addresses the needs of ESCOs, building owners, project lenders, or pay-for-performance programs.
Energy Shortfall Insurance – Designed to help mitigate the technical risk associated with distributed generation (e.g. Fuel Cells, Cogen, energy storage) and utility scale solar PV projects.
