GE Aerospace is a provider of jet engines, components, and systems for commercial and military aircraft with a global service network to support these offerings. GE Aerospace and its joint ventures have an installed base of more than 44,000 commercial and 26,000 military engines, and the business is playing a vital role in shaping the future of flights.

Having met their 2020 emissions reduction targets ahead of schedule, they have set a new goal to achieve carbon neutrality within their own operations (i.e., Scope 1 and 2 emissions) by 2030. To achieve this goal, GE Aerospace's actions include improving the energy efficiency of their sites, increasing the use of carbon-free electricity sources, and using lean practices to identify and reduce waste energy, and explore the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF). While they are focused on driving absolute reductions to achieve carbon neutrality, they will balance remaining emissions with carbon offsets. GE Aerospace internally tracks progress to established targets versus a 2019 baseline.

In 2020, GE Aerospace continued to measure, track, and progress toward decarbonizing its facilities and operations to align with the 2030 carbon-neutral pledge for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.

Also in 2022, GE Aerospace identified opportunities to improve energy efficiency at 18 of its major suites and is creating a long-term roadmap to meet its carbon-neutral commitment.
