The company is also named as Industry Leader in the 2015 Household Durables category in the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the ninth year in a row. Electrolux is also committed to reduce global relative energy usage by more than 50% by 2020, as a part of the ambitious goal to reduce carbon emissions by 50% compared to 2005 levels.
Electrolux is proud to be in partnership with the Better Plants Challenge for its U.S. based manufacturing footprint.
Electrolux received a 2020 Better Project Award for pioneering the use of Sphagnum Moss for industrial water treatment, which improved water and energy efficiency, led to lower maintenance and waste disposal costs, improved water quality, and lowered odor and skin irritation exposure risks to plant personnel - Project Presentation.
Electrolux received a 2022 Better Practice Award for creating the Green Bond Framework to finance sustainability projects and improve product energy efficiency, and for the Long-term Incentive Program, which links employee compensation with sustainability and climate-related action.
