CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc. owns, operates, and franchises some of the most popular brands in the quick-service restaurant industry, including the Carl's Jr., Hardee’s, Green Burrito and Red Burrito restaurant brands. The CKE system includes more than 3,300 restaurant locations in 42 states and 28 countries. CKE is headquartered in Carpinteria, California. Since 2011, CKE’s Going Green initiative has worked to develop and implement a strategic sustainability plan to proactively manage resources, to implement resource-efficiency policies and projects, and to quantify the environmental benefits of projects.

CKE is excited to align its goals with the DOE in the Better Building Challenge, committing to a 20% reduction in energy intensity by 2021 through the implementation of equipment and facility upgrades and greater awareness of energy management in restaurant operations.
