Bullitt County Public Schools

Bullitt County Public School District (BCPS) located in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, serves over 13,000 students. The district's portfolio consists of 27 buildings spread across 2 million square feet of space, adding over 600,000 square feet in the past 10 years. In response to its growth, the district committed to upgrading HVAC equipment, lighting and DDC controls in its properties. To help in emissions reduction, the district is looking into funding for electric school bus purchases and onsite solar PV. As part of its Better Buildings Challenge commitment, Bullitt achieved an energy reduction of 20% from a 2013 baseline in 2018, eight years ahead of schedule. The district maintains a water goal of 20% and set a second energy efficiency goal of 35% by 2026 across its portfolio of buildings. As part of its Better Climate Challenge commitment, Bullitt has set a goal of 50% emissions reduction goal by 2027 using a 2017 baseline.
