Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) is a global biopharmaceutical company whose mission is to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases. BMS’ approach to sustainability is comprehensive and global, and encompasses all the products they make and how they make them.

BMS has been setting sustainability objectives and reporting on results since the 1990s and the focus was broadened in 2000. The BMS 2020 sustainability goals include innovation to support a green, healthy planet, with targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption and to promote green design and waste reduction.

BMS joined the Better Plants program in 2016 and became a Challenge partner in 2019. BMS has pledged to improve energy efficiency by 20% in 10 years and the scope includes a combination of 8 U.S. manufacturing and research sites.
