Webinar: Electrifying Our Buildings: Challenges and Solutions

Electrifying Our Buildings: Challenges and Solutions

Webinar
Tuesday, June 8, 2021 3:00 pm EST

The move to clean energy and renewable sources of power is driving a move to electrification in the building stock. One of the real-world challenges facing owners and managers is that in a typical building, a substantial part of a building’s load is for heating and cooling – typically provided by fossil fuels such as natural gas. Building owners are struggling to find solutions that meet their needs and are cost-effective. This webinar explored options available today and different approaches to meet carbon goals, featuring building owners and design teams that are leading the market to achieve electrification goals.

Speakers: Paul Donohoo-Vallet, DOE; Christos Chrysiliou, Los Angeles Unified School District; Julie Klump, POAH; Kent Peterson, P2S Inc

Webinar: Becoming ESPC-Ready

Becoming ESPC-Ready

Webinar
Tuesday, June 15, 2021
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
EST

Join this webinar to better understand the basics of Energy Savings Performance Contracting, or ESPC. This foundational training covers how state and local governments can facilitate energy efficiency investments through ESPC, and how facility managers can use ESPC to enhance their facility’s energy performance. Whether you are a stakeholder from a state or local government, university, K-12 school, or hospital, this webinar can help you become ESPC-ready.

This webinar is based on the "Foundations of ESPC" training offered by the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) and the Energy Services Coalition as part of the DOE-NASEO Return-to-Work Initiative.

Speakers: Dale Hahs, S'energy Solutions; Sam Cramer, NASEO

Webinar: Monitoring Healthy Buildings: Using EMIS to Identify Issues with Ventilation, Air Quality, and Thermal Health

Monitoring Healthy Buildings: Using EMIS to Identify Issues with Ventilation, Air Quality, and Thermal Health

Webinar
Monday, June 21, 2021
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
EST

What data and metrics can be monitored to determine if a building is healthy for its occupants?  Are additional sensors necessary? In this presentation, the Better Buildings EMIS Tech Team clarifies opportunities for monitoring and analytics to identify areas that need attention, from fresh air delivery (including air change rates and purge cycles) and airborne contaminants to comfort metrics.

Webinar: PV Resiliency: Addressing Weather Vulnerabilities

PV Resiliency: Addressing Weather Vulnerabilities

Webinar
Tuesday, June 29, 2021
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
EST

Please join us for a Green Proving Ground (GPG) Outbrief webinar to review guidance on how to design, install and maintain PV systems so they are more likely to survive severe weather events. After the 2017 hurricane season, GPG hired the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to conduct post-storm field inspections in order to better understand why some PV systems failed, while others survived. Based on these field observations as well as others in the aftermath of hail storms, strong winds, and flooding, LBNL created guidance to help agency managers identify the most common PV vulnerabilities and the actions that can be taken to prepare for them. During the webinar, DOE researchers will review the guidance and answer questions from attendees.
