The Renaissance Collaborative: Energy performance

Energy Performance
Cumulative (vs. Baseline)17%
Annual (2017)9%

Better Buildings Challenge Partners strive to decrease portfolio-wide source energy use intensity (EUI) and to increase the percent improvement compared to a set baseline. The Renaissance Collaborative's portfolio consists of more than two buildings and close to 140,000 square feet. They have improved energy performance by 17% from a 2015 baseline, making progress towards a goal of 20% by 2024.  Energy savings have been achieved by implementing lighting retrofits across all properties, HVAC upgrades at both of its properties, and an energy awareness program focused on low-cost opportunities for savings.

Looking at the percent improvement in energy performance across all facilities can provide insight into how an organization is saving energy. The Renaissance Collaborative has achieved energy performance improvement of greater than 24% at one property, and 8% at its second property. This second property has been targeted for future energy efficiency improvements.
