PORTFOLIO ENERGY PERFORMANCE

Better Buildings, Better Plants Challenge partners strive to decrease portfolio-wide source energy use intensity (EUI), and to increase the percent improvement compared to a set baseline. TE Connectivity's U.S portfolio comprises of 66 facilities across its 14 different business units. With an energy intensity improvement of 25.7% since its baseline year of 2012, TE Connectivity has meet its 25% reduction four years in advance. This is the second 25% energy intensity goal that TE Connectivity has acheived in the Better Plants Program.  TE Connectivity has deployed energy treasure hunts across its portfolio over the last two years which together with other HVAC, compressed air and lighting projects implemented at various locations has helped them achieve their targets.

METHOD FOR CALCULATING ENERGY PERFORMANCE

TE Connectivity provides unique connectivity and sensor solutions for all major sectors. Given the wide range of products produced, TE Connectivity uses the "standard cost of production (SCCOP)" data to normalize energy consumption across its operations. SCCOP data is a holistic financial metric that takes into account all cost components of the manufacturing process including material cost, labor etc. The percent change in energy intensity is determined using SCCOP as the intensity metric and is tracked at the corporate level for its US facilities.
