Intuit: Energy performance

Better Buildings Challenge partners sharing data centers strive to decrease portfolio-wide power usage effectiveness (PUE) and to increase the percent improvement compared to a set baseline. Intuit's portfolio consists of one data center with 3 MW of utility consumption. Intuit has improved energy performance by 24% from a 2013 baseline, surpassing their original goal of 20% by 2024. Energy savings have been achieved by implementing a comprehensive hot-aisle containment system that ensures 100% of server exhaust air travels back to the CRAH units for conditioning.  Further energy savings have been achieved by raising the conditioned air temperature set points to reduce the cooling load, and implementing a secondary chilled water reset to reduce chiller runtime.

Better Buildings Challenge Partners strive to decrease portfolio-wide source water usage effectiveness (WUE) and to increase the percent improvement compared to a set baseline. Partner has improved water performance by 13% from a 2014 baseline, making progress towards a goal of 20% by 2024.
