PORTFOLIO ENERGY PERFORMANCE

Better Buildings Challenge Partners strive to decrease portfolio-wide source energy use intensity (EUI) and to increase the percent improvement compared to a set baseline. Florida A&M's portfolio consists of a campus of 156 buildings and 3.6 million square feet. Florida A&M has improved energy performance by 10% from a 2011 baseline, making progress towards a goal of 20% by 2024. Some of the most impactful contributions to energy savings include replacements of conventional lights to high-efficiency light bulbs, campus utility plant equipment upgrades, and improvements to the underground steam pipe system.
