Better Buildings Challenge Partners strive to decrease portfolio-wide source energy use intensity (EUI) and to increase the percent improvement compared to a set baseline. Alexandria Renew's portfolio consists of 1 facility. Partner has improved energy performance by 3.7% from a 2015 baseline, making progress towards a goal of 25% by 2025. Energy savings have been achieved by lighting replacements, boiler and steam trap upgrades, the use of renewable energy sources, and modifying the biological treatment process.

Alexandria Renew determines energy performance through the use of regression-based analysis to normalize energy consumption and track the progress of modifications and projects.
