Better Plants Challenge

The Better Plants Challenge is a higher-level commitment than the Better Plants Program. In addition to setting energy-efficiency goals, Better Plants Challenge partners commit to sharing their solutions and successes, including energy efficiency best practices in the form of “showcase projects,” which are near-term demonstrations of significant energy savings at an individual facility, and “implementation models,” which document corporate-level best practices that overcome specific barriers to energy efficiency. In return, Challenge partners receive enhanced recognition.

Industrial Implementation Models

Challenge partners create unique, replicable implementation models for overcoming energy efficiency barriers, so other organizations can apply these strategies and achieve similar savings.

Industrial Showcase Projects

Challenge partners share details on their energy savings projects, which apply cutting-edge energy efficiency measures to single facilities to achieve comprehensive energy and cost savings.

2017 Better Plants Progress Report

Better Plants partners now represent roughly 12 percent of the U.S. manufacturing energy footprint and have reported estimated cumulative energy cost savings of $4.2 billion over the last seven years.
