What are Better Plants Bootcamps?
The Better Plants program, with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, offers 3-day intensive workshops throughout the year on energy efficiency and management. The bootcamps include classroom instruction, diagnostic equipment and DOE software demonstrations, hands-on activities, and science tours.
Energy Bootcamps focus on the key aspects of energy efficiency and fundamentals of energy management. The courses cover energy management, process heating, steam, compressed air, motor-driven systems, and more. Energy Bootcamps give participants immediate energy efficiency solutions to accelerate their progress toward efficiency goals.
Bootcamps by the Numbers

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
You do not need to be a Better Plants partner to sign up! The training courses are relevant to participants from any manufacturer new to energy efficiency and management. Seasoned professionals who would like a refresher are also welcome to join! Each Bootcamp is limited to 65 individuals, and each company is allowed up to 4 participants per event.
HOW DO I BENEFIT?
Participants can apply what they learn at Energy Bootcamps at their own manufacturing facilities, including how to utilize DOE's free software tools and diagnostic equipment. Bootcamps invite participants to share with peers the challenges and opportunities they face regarding efficiency and energy management and work together to brainstorm solutions. Participants also discover how to identify energy savings opportunities and quantify cost savings.
