The Results are in for the 2018 Interior Lighting Campaign!

As of August 2018, participants in the Interior Lighting Campaign (ILC) have installed or upgraded over 2.8 million high efficiency lighting and control systems, which should save over $68 million annually in energy bills and cut energy use by an average 54%. The ILC recognized 15 organizations this summer for leading the way in lighting upgrades, with a combined self-reported $33 million in energy-cost savings by upgrading almost 1.4 million lighting systems to high-efficiency systems.

  • Nellis Air Force Base: Highest Percentage of Annual Energy Savings for Lighting Retrofits (Medium Project)
  • River Trails School District 26: Highest Percentage of Annual Energy Savings for Lighting Retrofits (Large Project)
  • Target Corporation: Greatest Annual Energy Savings for Lighting in New Construction (Large Project); Largest Number of Facility Projects; Greatest Portfolio-wide Annual Energy Savings
  • Thrust IV/Stonebridge Homes: Highest Percentage of Annual Energy Savings for Lighting Retrofits (Medium Project)
  • University of Utah Health: Highest Percentage of Annual Energy Savings for Lighting in New Construction (Large Project)
  • U.S. General Services Administration (GSA): Exemplary Federal Site Project
  • Yamaha Motor Corporation: Exemplary Industrial Site Project

On average, lighting accounts for 15% - 20% of the electricity that U.S. buildings consume annually.[1] Building owners and managers can capture up to 60% in energy cost savings by upgrading to more efficient troffers, and energy savings up to 80% with controls like dimmers, timers, and occupancy sensors.
