The Latitude Apartments are a new 12-story, 265-unit midrise multifamily development in Arlington, Virginia, located directly across the street from the Virginia Square Metro station. Tim McDonald from the Penrose Group guided a capacity tour of Summit attendees through the luxury building’s green living features. The Latitude has a tightly sealed envelope, tinted windows, and a large green roof installation. The building was designed with an open-air walkway on the first floor, which connects pedestrians between the Metro station and the community park on the other side. The group were able to tour some of the luxury community’s units – studio, one, and two-bedroom – which include advanced programmable thermostats and low-flow toilets (which were very interesting to the attendees). The property manager also showed off his office, from which he monitors the building’s HVAC system functions down to the unit, allowing for more efficient problem-spotting.
Thank you to Tim McDonald and the Penrose Group!
