Chariho Regional School District

The Chariho Regional School District is composed of three Rhode Island towns serving over 3,200 students through 11 school buildings. The district is committed to energy efficiency and has taken many actions over the past five years to ensure steady and successful gains in this regard. The District was recognized in July of 2024 as a Green Ribbon District by the U.S. Department of Education.

The District's commitments thus far have included replacement of all district lighting with LEDs, aggressively replacing and maintaining HVAC equipment, piloting efficiency technology to ensure maximum positive impact. The District has identified 2019 as its base year and continue to develop strategic objectives that include reduction of energy use, improvement of indoor air quality and reduction of waste in all its forms.
